The surface of the music may appear volatile – pitch and rhythm shifting, and the harmony often intensified by quarter-tones – but the piece as a whole is unified by its underlying tempi and modality.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt was commissioned by York Late Music Concert Series and first performed bythe Bingham String Quartet on September 2nd 2017.
