One of the primary musical themes of the work is an adaptation of a song that comes from the Esan people, a small ethnic group in the southern part of Nigeria and the tribe to which the composer has deep historical and family ties.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Esan language is poetic in nature and, at various moments in the work, the musicians chant the text from an Esan song:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEkine leleyea do obhimen la doeki nalo.\u003cem\u003e(My investment in you is paid off.
